DONINEWS. German journalist: Ukraine will never enter European Union

Ukraine will never become a member of the European Union, and the Kiev governors promote the European integration subject to calm down the population dissatisfied with the living standards, stated the director of the German Center for Euroasian Studies, the editor of the Zuerst magazine, Manuel Ochsenreiter during the lecture for students of the Lugansk National Univercity named after Shevchenko.

«Ukraine will never enter the European Union. But we (representatives of Europe) tell them, Ukrainian residents, that they will for sure be members of the European Union and, in particular, this idea is supported by Poroshenko because it helps him to talk down those citizens who live not in the best conditions,» Ochsenreiter is sure.

«Ukraine is a complete disaster in the funding concern and, naturally, even Merkel understands it. One should be delirious to let Ukraine become a member of the European Union,» considers the journalist.

He noted that the idea of Ukraine’s inclusion into the EU will be supported by Kiev, «as it is a come-on for Ukrainian, that is Kiev can use this trick to shrug off some other serious reforms, real reforms.»
